Programs | OverviewThe Florida Community of Mindfulness (FCM) offers a variety of programs to support individuals in their aspiration to cultivate wisdom and compassion and to be able to lead mindful, awakened lives. These programs include weekly meditation, classes, intensives, and retreats. Our weekly meditation programs can help you to cultivate and sustain a mindfulness meditation practice through sitting with a supportive community. These programs are open to all regardless of prior experience. Some meditation programs include guidance on sitting and walking meditation, particularly helpful for those new to the practice. Others are primarily silent and may have longer sitting periods. Please click here to learn more about our weekly meditation programs. Classes are offered to support personal development in a wide variety of areas, from learning the basics of mindfulness and meditation to emotional healing to Buddhist psychology and more. Most FCM classes are available to everyone, while several may be limited to members or specific professions, such as educators or social workers. Please click here for a full description of our classes, and check the calendar for upcoming class dates. Intensives are periods of practice - typically three to six months - where participants have the opportunity to more deeply study and practice in a designated area of Buddhist practice. Intensives are offered for members of FCM and at all three stages of FCM's Path of Practice. Please click here for more information about our Intensives. Retreats are offered on both a residential and non-residential basis at FCM. Our monthly Daylong and Half-day Retreats in Tampa and Naples, open to all, are silent mini-retreats that help nourish and renew us through spending extended time in mindfulness practice. Our new residential retreat center, Great Cloud, is open and residential retreats of two to seven days are offered monthly for more in-depth practice opportunities. Some retreats are open to members engaged in a particular area of Buddhist study and others are open to non-members as well. In addition, solitary silent retreats are also offered at Great Cloud. Please click here to learn more about our retreats. We invite you to read more about all of our programs, and to check the FCM Calendar of Events for a current schedule of all programs. |
