Naples Sangha | The Naples SanghaThe Naples Sangha meets in person every Sunday at 6:00-8:00 at Unity of Naples, 2000 Unity Way, Naples FL 34112. Sunday evening offers a half-hour of sitting meditation, walking meditation, chanting service, and a Dharma talk or discussion. Zoom is not available. Questions and open discussion with newcomers are encouraged and make for a rich give-and-take and open exploration of the Dharma (teachings of the Buddha) and its meaning and application in our daily lives. Dharma presentations are in the Thich Nhat Hanh tradition, with a mixture of offerings from other traditions, such as Tibetan and Chan. Members and newcomers help each other to learn and grow and to deal with the challenges of modern living as they share experiences. Discussions are led by senior students of the Florida Community of Mindfulness (FCM) who have undertaken many hours of extensive training with our teacher, Fred Eppsteiner. Fred, who formed the Naples Sangha before relocating to Tampa, also occasionally visits the Sangha in person to answer questions and share teachings. The Naples Sangha also offers local Days of Mindfulness to afford members and non-members the opportunity to refresh and relax while exploring more deeply how to apply the Dharma in their lives. While the Naples Sangha is a part of FCM and offers access to all programs offered by FCM, it also is its own supportive and warm community serving the Southwest Florida area and welcomes full-time residents and snowbirds from other areas. Practitioners in the Naples area get the best of both worlds -- a strong local sangha with the deep resources of the large practice group in Tampa. We hope to see local newcomers soon!
