While Thich Nhat Hanh (Thay) ís best known for his mindful living teachings and practices, his teachings on awakening/enlightenment have received less attention. Thay was a Zen master and, if you look into his teachings in such books as Zen Keys and Zen Battles, one can clearly see that emphasis. Awakening to reality and knowing the true nature of one’s mind is at the heart of the Zen experience and Thay wanted his students to ‘break-through’ and have their own direct experience of their Buddha Mind.
In this five-week class, Fred will be reading from and commenting on Thay’s wisdom teachings and clear focus that the ultimate purpose of Zen is both to produce enlightened people and awakened communities to contribute to the transformation of this world.
To participate, please join Fred live in our Meditation Hall or online at 7:15 PM EST on Wednesday evenings September 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30
