We want to be happy and do our best, but daily we get carried away by strong emotions of fear, anxiety, stress, tension, worry and concerns that obscure our natural feelings of well-being and create suffering for ourselves and others.  Fortunately, current research shows that mindfulness practices effectively calm and stabilize our minds, giving us more choice, more control over our experience.

This class is open to everyone.  It will be of special interest to people in helping professions, care-givers who want to work with less stress themselves while having a toolbox of simple mindfulness practices to share with patients, colleagues and students so they too, can calm the daily emotional upsets that impair their ability to be at ease and function at their best.

Learning Objectives

- Participants will learn the source of fear-based emotions

- Participants will learn simple mindfulness practices for:

     a) Preventing disturbing emotions from arising

     b) Calming anxious mind states as they arise

     c) Cultivating & nurturing mind states of natural well-being, confidence & ease
